Vocations Committee

Contact: Ernest Doclar
Call Parish Office

The St. Francis Parish Vocation Committee works to encourage families and young Catholics to consider the priesthood and religious life as a career of serving God's Church.  The committee also works to affirm and appreciate our priests', religious', and deacons' calls to serve.

The committee meets five times a year, usually on a Thursday evening in the church. We welcome
more parishioners to labor to form and reaffirm vocations to serve the Church.

Vocation Committee Programs

Vocation cross program

Every weekend mass a parish family, group, or individual receives a wooden cross to display in the
home to remind them to pray that week for God's help to encourage vocations.  If you are interested in volunteering your family or group to pray for vocations for a week,  please contact
Cecilia Winters at (817) 416-2979.
Members of our Hispanic community are also asked to pray similarly and  a parish family, group, or individual receives a wooden cross at the Monthly Hispanic Mass.  If you are interested in volunteering your family or group for the monthly Spanish mass, please contact
Mayra Cernicek at (817) 481-8057.

Holiday Greetings

Each Christmas and Easter we encourage our parishioners to send holiday greetings to our
diocesan seminarians studying for the priesthood.  Contact information is provided in the bulletin
and will be available on this website during the Holiday Season

Holy Hours of Prayer

Our committee sponsors holy hours of prayer for vocations on the third Wednesdays of each month
at 7:30 P.M. and after every first Saturday mass at 9:00 A.M.

"31 Club"

Parishioners are asked to commit to pray for vocations on one of the days of the month.  Signups are
on the calendar on  vocation bulletin board in the parish hall.

World Day of Prayer

World Day of Prayer for Vocations, usually the first Sunday of May is observed in our parish.
Parishioners are asked to pray Pope Benedict's prayer for the year at all masses, at home that week,
and take part in adoration in the afternoon.
