Parish Happenings

There will be formal instruction to help Boy Scouts complete the requirements
for the
Catholic Ad Altare Dei (AAD) emblem. The instruction will start in late August
and continue through the fall and into the first months of 2011.
We shall meet in the church on Tuesday evenings beginning at 7:00 P.M. and lasting until
a bit past 8:00 P.M. The diocesan Catholic Scout committee insists that any Scout wishing to work
on this emblem participate in formal instruction. Scouts must:
be Catholic; be registered with the BSA; be active in a troop six months; and complete
the fifth grade before beginning work on the AAD.
More info from: Ernie Doclar, janeandernie@verizon.net,  or 817-481-2198.

Coming to Mass but Not Catholic?

If you’ve been coming to Mass for a while, but are not Catholic, we invite you to look
deeper into the Catholic faith. St. Francis of Assisi will soon begin a new journey in
faith to share the richness of the Catholic Church and our parish family.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a journey of conversion to
God—a process by which persons who were never baptized, or were baptized in
another Christian tradition, become members of the Church. A general inquiry
session to answer your questions regarding the RCIA process will be held in the Library
on Thursday, July 29th at 7 pm. Weekly RCIA inquiry sessions to learn what Catholics believe in
an open and welcoming environment will begin in September .
Please contact Michele Meny at the parish office or via email at mmeny@sfatx.org with questions
or if you would like further information.

Catechists needed!
Would you like an opportunity to share your Catholic faith? The Youth Formation program is in need of catechists (teachers) for our Faith Formation (Religious Education) classes. A variety of classes are offered on Sundays and Wednesdays, running from September through April. We need people who are English speaking, Spanish speaking or Bilingual. Must like working with children anywhere from the age of 3 up to high school. We need teens and
grandparents too! Not into teaching? We also need
office and craft help too! If you’re interested please contact
Yvette Crumly at 817-481-2685 or ycrumly@sfatx.org for more information.

Pass-It-On will be meeting throughout most of the summer every
Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the Youth Center.

Pass-It-On
is for those students
recently confirmed through graduated 12th grade.
